Governor Thanks Cabinet for a Job Well Done

Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga took time at today’s cabinet meeting to express his thanks to members of the cabinet.

December 15th is the deadline for all cabinet members to submit their resignation letters and to reapply for the same position should they wish to continue.

The governor said, if there’s one thing that he has treasured during their first term in office its the spirit of working together.

He pointed out the realization of many accomplishments of the administration is the result of the cabinet actively collaborating and doing the best they could for the betterment of the people of American Samoa.

Lolo said words were not enough to express his sense of gratitude and all he could say is to thank the cabinet for all of their great work for American Samoa.

The governor went on to say that some cabinet members have been relieved from their posts and two who have resigned for health reasons,

He said some directors have decided to serve their families and will take time out to think things over before returning for the new administration.

Lolo indicated that most of the directors will be returning in the new administration .

He thanked the cabinet for putting their trust in he and Lemanu to lead the administration, not for themselves but for the people of the Territory.

He also apologized for any shortcomings in their leadership saying life is full of mistakes and challenges but “we take the opportunity to learn from the mistakes.”

Governor Lolo was thankful to God for the chance to become a leader of American Samoa.

He told the cabinet that when they took office, they were not fully informed and in fact “were stupid” but they relied on God who gave them the wisdom and knowledge, and helped them with their decision making.

Lolo said they have overcome many obstacles and Whatever has been accomplished by the administration, he hopes God is pleased and the glory should go back to Him.

A cabinet Christmas dinner for Directors only and their spouses has been scheduled for next Friday at the Tradeswind Hotel.

All members of the cabinet were asked to join the Governor and Lt. Governor’s inauguration ceremony scheduled for January 3rd.
