All’s gone quiet regarding the acquisition of BlueSky Communications by Fijian company, Amalgamated Telecom Holdings.
Emails to BlueSky owners, Amper SA. and ATH have gone unanswered.
Journalists in Fiji have told KHJ News that they have also been stonewalled by the ATH company.
Governor Lolo Moliga did mention the BlueSky sale at last week’s cabinet meeting.
Lolo said that the situation with BlueSky and Tri Marine are indications of difficult times ahead for the territory.
He told the cabinet that the attorneys and those assigned to find out more about the BlueSky sale are doing their research and when he has a clearer picture of the situation, he would inform the cabinet.
Governor Lolo also mentioned that the government needs to take a critical look at the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority and set concrete plans for ASTCA for the next four years.
He said this is one of the government ‘s major assets and he intends to discuss with the Board of Directors, their plans for improving telecommunications between the territory and the outside world.
