A  church service held yesterday at the Fagaalu Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa was to express the Lolo and Lemanu  camp’s gratitude to God for their success at the polls and for God’s protection on the territory on Election Day.

The sermon by Rev. Lalomauga Paau of the Fagaalu CCCAS was based on the Book of Exodus 33:23 which reads, ” And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts; but my face shall not be seen.”

The verse tells of God’s response to Moses when he wanted to see God’s glory.

The minister said because  man is imperfect, he cannot see God as He is.

Rev. Paau said when one is grateful and thankful for an accomplished mission, they do not look ahead but reflect on how an accomplishment was possible.

According to the reverend, God receives the highest of glory when He is acknowledged and exalted for success.

The other gubernatorial teams did not attend the service which was packed by supporters of the administration including directors and members of the Fono.

Neither Governor Lolo Moliga or Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga delivered remarks at the service.
