Lealaifuaneva Peter Reid Jr. Comes Home Tonight

The body of Afioga Lealaifuaneva Peter Reid Jr., who passed away October 22 in Honolulu will be brought home on tonight’s Hawaiian Air flight.

Leala’s daughter, Olivia Reid Gillet, said there won’t be a service at the airport upon arrival.

Friends and family are invited to join in welcoming him home and be part of the motorcade following the hearse from the airport to the LBJ chapel where a church service will be held.

A family and friends service will be held at the Fatuoaiga Hall at 6pm Thursday, November 17.

Then the day, a short service will be held at the LBJ chapel at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 18 then Afioga Lealaifuaneva’s body will be taken to the Reid guest house at Fogagogo .

Wake services will be held that evening at the guesthouse in Fogagogo.

Lealaifuaneva’s Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the Iliili Catholic Church at 10 am and he will be laid to rest at Fogagogo immediately afterward.

Afioga Lealaifuaneva is endeared by his five children, grandchildren, his extended family, village of Pago Pago, the companies he started and the business community, the Catholic Church, where he worshipped, and other denominations, the political arena where he was a senator and campaign leader for the Uifaatali Peter Coleman and Tufele Li’a governments, sports, and community organizations.

Because of his involvement and financial assistance to many causes in the territory, his funeral will bring hundreds of people not just from here, but Hawaii, the mainland, and Samoa to pay their respects.
