Lolo & Lemanu Lead in Unofficial Results for Manu’a & ABs

election-day-office-2

The first unofficial results from today’s voting came from polling places in Manu’a.

We stress that these results are unofficial.

In the Gubernatorial race,

  • Lolo and Lemanu lead with 210 votes;
  • Faoa and Sanitoa received 52;
  • and Tuika and Maeva had 7 votes.

Lolo and Lemanu led in all of the five polling places in Ofu Olosega and Sili, Faleasao, Fitiuta and Tau.

Olosega & Sili:  Lolo & Lemanu 30, Faoa Sanitoa 7 , Tuika 0

Ofu:  Lolo & Lemanu 34, Faoa & Sanitoa 10, Tuika 4

Faleasao: Lolo & Lemanu 33, Faoa & Sanitoa 3 Tuika 0

Fitiuta: Lolo & Lemanu 55, Faoa & Sanitoa 14, Tuika 3

Tau: Lolo & Lemanu 58, Faoa & Sanitoa 18, Tuika 0

Counting of Absentee Ballots started after 2 pm at the Election Office with the gubernatorial votes counted first.

 But there’s been a snag due to about 40 ballots which were not dated, and have been  challenged by the Faoa Sanitoa camp.

It also turns out that the Election Office is unable to determine whether these are local or off island absentee ballots.

Our reporter at the Absentee Ballot counting at the Election Office Tauva Esera explains.
