Golden medal winner, Ursula Te’o Martin, is now back in Las Vegas after capturing more gold for American Samoa at the 22nd South Pacific Bodybuilding and Figure championships in French Polynesia over the weekend.
She took first place in the 55 kg women’s body building and 164 cm height women’s figure competition and won two overall titles in those categories.
About her victory, Te’o Martin says, “I feel truly blessed.. all glory to God for his outpour of love upon all who have supported and sustained me to this victory! “
She said she doesn’t stand alone on that stage and am very mindful that she represents not just herself, but her family, friends and loved ones, her village of Faleniu but most importantly American Samoa.
She said, “It is so important to me to be prepared and represent strong and I am just so thankful of the outcome!
“Our efforts are blessed indeed – not just bringing home two gold medals but also two overall titles for each category I participated in for our island home of American Samoa.”
With that competition in the bag, Te’o Martin is still in training mode as she will be on stage again in less than two weeks.
She will be competing in a bodybuilding show in Hawaii – the National Physique Committee “Paradise Cup” on Nov. 12th in Honolulu.
She hopes to do well for American Samoa in the Masters Figure – Tall Class competition.
Martin Teo acknowledged her son Guahan who is her inspiration, her parents – Whitney and Angel mother Palefuiono Te’o, and the influence of her upbringing as a child growing up in Faleniu.
She said,” Im grateful I am able to represent our island nation well and thank everyone back home for the outpour of love, acknowledgement and support.
“The sport of Bodybuilding has found me and it is another way for me to share my passion for health and fitness.”
She thanked her coach Shane Lyman of Hawaii Elite Athletic Training/Mana Barbell whom she says is “dedicated to the sport of Bodybuilding and trains with a heart of Gold!”
