Staff of Hope House showered the departing chairman of the Hope House Board, David Robinson, with gifts at a farewell function at Hope House Saturday night.
Hosted by Bishop Peter Brown and the Hope House Board, led by Rep. Larry Sanitoa, the event was in recognition of Mr. Robinson’s service for the home for the elderly and children with severe disabilities.
More than five years ago, the Poor Sisters of Nazareth , the order of nuns which operated the home since it was first opened more than 30 years ago, ended their service in American Samoa.
From that time on, a group was set up to help raise funds and serve as an advisory group for the home.
Robinson has been at the forefront of the Board of Directors from that time. However he is leaving the territory for good at the end of this week.
Bishop Peter Brown delivered a thank you speech on behalf of the board and former and current residents and staff of Hope House.
