Department of Education Coordinator for the Close Up Foundation Youth Summit, Dr. Dottie Aga Tuisamatatele, admits that there’s been no follow up regarding proposals for legislative action from past Youth Close Up Summit.

Each year at the end of the Close Up Foundation Youth Summit proposals are given to lawmakers who participate.

Tuisamatatele said they don’t have any information and have not followed up on any action taken on previous proposals.

But she assured that they will follow up on  proposals and recommendations from this year’s Close Up Summit to the Fono.

And she’s hopeful that lawmakers will keep the students informed of any action taken or lack of action on their proposals.

The 3-day Close Up Youth Summit concluded yesterday and again proposals from the participants in the areas of education, finance, health and environment to name a few were voted on.

Eighty students took part in the 6th Close Up Youth Summit and among them were seniors from Manu’a High School.

Two shared their opinions about the Summit and the approved resolutions.
