It’s going to be a busy Friday in downtown Fagatogo today.

The malae is already lined with tents and vendors are looking forward to some brisk sales with not just one but two cruise ships arriving today.

Noordam of the Holland America Lines will dock this morning with 2,366 passenger and 820 crew members,

At noon, the Costa Luminosa of Costa Cruises is scheduled to arrive with 2,712 passengers and just over 1,000 crew members.

Both liners are here until 6pm.

The last time that there were two cruise ships arriving on the same day was in November of 2012 and port personnel handled the task of guiding the two ships in and docking them alongside each other, smoothly,

Also today is the dedication of the new Fale Samoa for the Fono.

The Samoan fale has been turned into an all enclosed fully air conditioned building and what remains of the original architecture is the interior ceiling which is tied together with afa or sinnet.

The Fono is hosting a celebration after the House and Senate sessions, which will be the final ones for  the 34th legislature.

Unless the governor calls a special session, the next time the Fono convenes will be at noon on January 3rd, 2017 for the swearing in of senators and representatives for the 35th legislature, and election of leaders.
