An activity for Domestic Violence Awareness Month yesterday brought government agencies, non profit organizations, and advocacy groups serving victims and families together at the Lee Auditorium.
The 2016 theme, “Mourn, Celebrate, Connect” mourns the loss of victims of domestic violence, celebrates survival of those who have overcome this scourge and connect victims, service providers and advocates,
Keynote Speaker First Lady Cythia Malala Moliga was an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse; when she worked at human and Social Services and expressed appreciation to individuals who have remained committed to dealing with this malady in the territory.
She said tackling domestic violence is everyone’s business.
