October 10 Is Last Day to Request Absentee Voting for Some

The Election Office reminds voters that Monday, October 10 is the deadline to submit requests for  local absentee voting for voters who are not physically able to go to the voting booths and cast ballots on Election Day.

This includes those who are confined to any hospital or any public institution,  those confined at home because of illness or physical disability or those who are prevented from voting because of religious belief and those serving as election officials on Election Day.

Local election law authorizes the chief election officer to designate a day or days on which the mentioned voters may cast their absentee ballots.

Election Commissioner Uiagalelei Dr. Lealofi Uiagalelei says all those who cannot voter at the polls on Election Day because of illness or physical disability or religious reasons us submit their requests to their village mayor.

The deadline to submit their requests is Monday, October 10.

Uiagalelei has set Thursday, October 13 through Monday  November 7 for all those who qualify to cast their absentee ballots.

Election officials will supervise the voting during this 22 day period.
