Out of Tragedy Comes Hope for the Future

Family members of the 34 victims of the 2009 earthquake and tsunami heard uplifting words from Dr. Jueta McCutheon, psychologist for the Department of Human and Social Services.

She spoke at a memorial service and fellowship for families who lost mothers, fattsunami memorial childhers and children in the disaster.

This was held  Saturday at the Lions Park where the Pago Pago Rotary Club and Hawaiian Air built a picnic shelter and monument with the names of all 34 victims.

Dr. McCutheon touched on hope and recovery as elements of coping with the loss of family members.

The names etched on the monument at Lions Park were recited by the master of ceremony Tapumanaia Galu Satele.
