For a group of parents attending the first day of a basic computer skills training, not only are they gaining a new skill, their coming together for the next 8 weeks of the course is uplifting.
The group comprises parents who lost a military son or daughter.
The computer training is part of the outreach services provided by the Army Reserve for the parents to help them cope after losing a loved one.
The computer training is contracted to the Native American Samoa Advisory Council , which runs the Womens Business Center.
Retired school teacher Pimento Seumanutafa Heather is one of the participants.

Coordinator of the Army Reserves’ Survivor Outreach Services, Julia Foifua, says the computer training kicks off a three event celebration of Gold Star Moms which is commemorated nationwide on Sunday.
Foifua says the next event tomorrow is a prayer breakfast

And the culmination of Gold Star Moms celebration is the Toa o Samoa Service at 3pm Sunday at the Catholic Church in Pago Pago.
