What can BlueSky customers expect if the sale of the BlueSky Pacific Group to Fiji company Amalgamated Telecom Holdings goes through?

KHJ News asked ATh CEO Pradeep Lal this question: For BlueSky customers in Am Samoa, Samoa, and Cook Islands, what would you say to them to convince them that the sale will be good for them?

What services, products, investments currently unavailable to Bluesky customers will ATH deliver?

Lal says they will now look at connecting the Pacific in a “more collaborative approach as to how its customers in the Pacific can benefit.”

ATH operates Fiji’s biggest phone company Vodafone Fiji.

The CEO says over the years Vodafone successfully launched award winning products and services.

“With Ookla accredited fastest network in the Asia Pacific region,” he says, “Vodafone has the capability in telecommunications operations and investments to deliver the best and latest in mobile communications.”

Lal spells out: “Imagine being connected to family and friends, having connectivity on the go; staying in touch, for education, health, infotainment or business purposes.”

Other services that Vodafone would deliver are:  topping mobile credit from off island, roaming with ease, and promoting local artists through the value added services.

Lal said their network will make international money transfers faster and simpler for Pacific consumers.

“One will be able to top-up mobile phones of family or friends from overseas or send money for that matter,” he said.

But he concedes it’s not all going to happen overnight.

Lal assured that once they start operations and gradually move to invest resources in the three island countries where BlueSky operates overtime they will be able to “deliver the benefits” that American Samoa , Samoa and the Cook Islands “have been deprived of in terms of the latest technology, products and services.”
