Man Released from Jail After 60 Days for Beating Brother in Law

Feleti Talosaga, charged with  private peace disturbance and assault 3rd degree today entered a plea agreement which the court accepted.

The government, represented by Assistant Attorney General Jedidiah Bigelow,  offered in return for his plea of guilty to the assault charge , dismissal of the private peace disturbance count.

According to the government’s case, on June 27th this year while Talosaga was intoxicated, he caused trouble at home.

He got into an altercation with his brother-in-law and punched the victim’s face.

Assistant Public Defender Karen Shelley told District Court Judge Elvis Patea that her client had already served 59 days in the Territorial Correctional Facility.

Talosaga was sentenced to 60 days in jail and since he’s been locked up at the TCF for 59 days, he will be released from jail at 7 tomorrow morning.
