Man Accused of Biting Attendant Faces Trial

A defendant charged in US federal court in Honolulu for interfering with crew on a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Pago Pago to Honolulu is to go on trial next month.

Aumoeualogo Togia is accused of biting a flight attendant and threatening the flight crew.

He faces one count each of interfering with a flight crew and assault.

Togia, who lives In Honolulu, is released on a $25,000 unsecured bond.

According to court filings , the defendant was standing near the restroom of the aircraft and was asked by the crew to take his seat when the seat belt light came on.

He allegedly threatened to kill somebody if they touched him or his children.

At his arraignment he answered not guilty to the two counts.

His next court appearance is later this month.
