Governor Lolo Moliga has resubmitted for the Fono’s confirmation of Roy JD Hall Jr to serve on the board of the American Samoa Visitors Bureau.

In the last session, the House had confirmed Hall for the Visitors Bureau Board of which he was chairman, but the Senate rejected it.

In his nomination letter to the Fono leaders, Governor Lolo said Hall has worked as a private attorney in the territory for over 40 years.

He lists Hall’s academic credentials, professional experience and his community service .

Hall has a BA in Sociology from the University of Hawaii and graduated from the California Western School of Law in 1973.

He sat in the House of Representatives seat for Tuala-uta for two terms.

Hall has served as president of the American Samoa Bar Association, is a past president of the Pago Pago Rotary Club, and was chairman of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

He owns the Turtle and Shark Lodge, a 6-room bed and breakfast in Vaitogi.

The governor says Hall’s wide range of experience and particularly as an owner of a bed and breakfast will be of great use to the board.

Lolo said, “I have every confidence that Mr. Hall will be a valuable asset to the board,” and asked the Fono leaders and members to confirm him as a member of the board of the American Samoa Visitors Bureau.

Confirmed members of the board are Tom Drabble, Tuiagamoa Tavai, Uili Leauanae, and Tuli Fruean.
