No Prosecution in Alleged Harrassment

A counsel from the Attorney General’s Office has decided not to prosecute an alleged incident which involved the Deputy Director of the Department of Homeland Security, Jacinta Brown and a male employee.

His reason is that there is not a substantial amount of evidence to pursue the case.

The victim is not satisfied with the prosecutor’s decision and is pursuing the case with higher authorities.

The male employee who is said to be a military retiree allegedly yelled at Deputy Director Brown and threatened her during a meeting where several other staff members were present.

Brown explained that she received an email from one of the lawyers at the AG’s Office explaining how he arrived at his decision.

He cited lack of evidence and that the accused is no longer working with the agency.

Brown explained that she had asked the police officer investigating her case if she needed more witness reports and was told that the two witnesses who made statements were enough.

The deputy director of Homeland Security feels the decision not to prosecute is not based on facts as the prosecutor cannot confirm where the accuser is now working.

Brown vows she’s not giving up on this case, because she does not want to fail herself and the many other possible victims in similar situations.
