Aua faipule Faimealelei Anthony Allen is calling for answers from the American Samoa Power Authority concerning the status of the Aua sewer line which runs from the village to the waste treatment plant in Utulei.

Faimealelei told colleagues yesterday that he’s tired of the lack of response from ASPA management to his emails about the project…a project the ASPA CEO, Utu Abe Malae had said will be completed in two years.

The lawmaker said he was told last year the sewerline was nearing completion.

But after four years, it’s still not finished.

Faimealelei wants ASPA ‘s Chief Operating Officer Reno Vivao to be questioned about the Aua sewer line project.

The faipule has also called for Public Health officials to explain what’s happened to funding made available for pre- natal check ups for pregnant women.

He says this funding should provide pre natal check ups free of charge for pregnant mothers but at present the women have to pay.

Faimealelei referred to possible health risks for pregnant mothers who are not seeing the doctor because of the charges for all the tests they need to have as part of their pre-natal screening.
