A woman faces charges related to an incident last month in which she tried to get physical with police officers who had taken her in for questioning.

Fa’afili Lesa was initially wanted for questioning related to a hit and run incident.

Court filings say two officers who went to bring her in were met with Samoan swear words.

At the central station she was asked if she had a valid ID card and she replied yes.

But when asked to produce it the defendant was uncooperative.

The officer then held up an ID card that was on the table in front of  the defendant and she got mad and tried to punch the officer’s face.

The attending officers wasted no time in apprehending her.

Court affidavits say the woman became more belligerent, pulling her hands away, swearing profusely this time in Tongan and attacking the officers.

She was then booked and taken to the Territorial Correctional Facility.

A status hearing for Lesa, who’s held on bail of $300, will be held in two weeks.
