The US Coast Guard has sent a recruiting team to the territory , the first one in many years,
This is the branch of the US Armed Forces that deals with marine law enforcement, fisheries surveillance, drugs, people smuggling and pirating and ensures the sea is protected from oil poluution
Appearing on the Samoa Sunrise Show this morning were Coast Guard recruiters Chief Petty Officers Gabe Acosta and Todd Ross and Public Affairs Officer Terra, with Michael MacDonald of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Chief Petty Officer Acosta explained that the Coast Guard makes available the same benefit package as the other branches of the military.
In addition there’s a sign up bonus.
