The Samoa Shipping Corporation has resolved a payment dispute with the American Samoa Shipyard Services and the Lady Naomi is going on the slipway at Satala next week.

General Manager of the Samoa Shipping Corporation Papalii Willie Nansen who traveled on the Lady Naomi trip yesterday, said the boat will be bringing passengers from Apia on Monday and will go on the slipway that day.

He expects the vessel to be out of commission for two weeks.

The Fotu o Samoa, which carries cargo only will be making weekly trips on Thursday  but there will be no passengers on board.
Some of the weekly cargo from Samoa includes taro and Samoa’s famous export Vailima.

With Polynesian raising its freight charges a few months ago, many  people who used to ship by air are now using the Lady Naomi.

Papalii was here with Japanese officials believed to be from one of the ship manufacturing companies in Japan, where the Naomi and newer boats of the Samoa Shipping corporation were built.
