Hawaiian Air‘s first Wednesday night flight for the summer arrives tonight.
Continuing to August 10, the airline is operating 14 extra flights this summer.
Two of the additional weekly flights will be on Sundays, while 12 are Wednesday flights.
The flight times are the same as Hawaiian’s regular Monday and Friday flights.
Hawaiian Air’s Vice President for corporate communications Ann Boticelli did not have information on passenger loads for the summer flights but a senior airline staffer at Hawaiian Air’s local office said that the extra flights are relatively light coming and going.
But the regular Monday and Friday flights are full.
Two weeks ago some travelers who were unable to book flights on the Monday or Friday flights traveled via Apia to Honolulu on Fiji Airways’ weekly flight.
The summer is Hawaiian’s busy travel season with church conferences, reunions, school and sports groups heading here while others go for vacations off island.
