The High Court asked to review the juvenile record of a young man who has made a career out of breaking the law.

When Joe Togitogi appeared for sentencing, his attorney Assistant Public Defender Mike White did not offer any comments on his behalf.

The prosecutor, Assistant Attorney General Bob Pickett, said Togitogi has committed crimes of violence including assault, escape from the Territorial Correctional Facility, and getting into a fight while on the lam.

The prosecutor said that from an early age, Togitogi has had a history of run-ins with the law.

For his latest offence, Togitogi had punched a young man who had confronted him about stealing a TV set.

The defendant said at his sentencing hearing he felt angry and his anger got the better of him when he should have walked away.

He said the altercation was not planned, but he could not control his anger.

Togitogi acknowledged this was not the first time he has broken the law

Chief Justice Michael Kruse continued Togitogi’s sentence a week and asked the government to seek the release of Togitogi’s juvenile criminal record from the Family, Drug and Alcohol Court for he and his panel to review before they sentence Togitogi.
