The Republican Party of American Samoa is pledging the votes of all of its nine delegates to the Republican National Convention to  Donald Trump.

The decision was reached at a meeting of the local party last night.

Chairman of the American Samoa Republican Party, Utu Abe Malae, stated that it was important for American Samoa to present a unified front at the Convention and to energetically support Donald Trump.

A press statement from the American Samoa Republican Party quotes Utu saying, “We are particularly proud to back Trump and A

merican Samoa’s support shows just how the party from all parts of our country is firmly uniting behind Mr. Trump.”

Party Vice Chair and Trump’s Campaign Manager for American Samoa, John Raynar, echoed Chairman Utu’s remarks saying it is important for all states and territories to come together and work towards securing Mr Trump’s win in November.

Raynar says, “After a Hillary Clinton loss Tuesday night and some positive polling in the general election for Mr Trump, this is the time for American Samoa to rally behind our candidate as he prepares to become the next President of the United States of America,”
