As the week draws to a close, transportation relief for Manu’a remains elusive.
The government was hoping to charter the Samoa Government vessel Fotu o Samoa to make a couple of trips and the vessel was originally scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
However ASG was informed that the vessel is down needing repairs.
It’s not known when the boat will be available to make the charters to Manu’a.
A port official said the charters were to be shared by ASG and the American Samoa Power Authority.
Its been more than a month since the MV Sili has been down and ASPA is the only agency that has been chartering private boats to take fuel and their own supplies for projects in Manu’a.
